Church Recorders Church Recorders promote recognition and preservation of the rich artistic heritage in places of worship by recording the contents of churches of all religions. Participating churches are presented with an illustrated book detailing each item and its history. Copies are also sent to national institutions. Our Church Recorders started their work in 1983 with the St Peter and St Paul Church in Osbournby and have recently finished recording their thirtieth Church. The contact for the Church Recorders group is Mrs Sue Barlow and the group leader is Mrs Anne Colahan, see our Contact Us page. If you are interested in inviting enthusiastic, disciplined and committed volunteers to make a detailed inventory of your church or place of worship, please contact us. There is no charge for church recording or for the production of church records. All Church Recorders must be members of our society. If you are interested in becoming a Church Recorder, please contact the church Recorders organiser via our Contact Us page and we will be happy to explain what we do and could even arrange a visit so that you can experience what we do first-hand.
